Yealink W52P - How to Transfer a Call

Follow the instructions below to Transfer a Call  


Description: There are two types of transfers "Warm" or "Cold" Transfer. 

Cold transfers (also known as one-step or a blind transfer) are when the phone system gets a hold of a potential customer and transfers them directly to your customer service representative. 

warm transfer is the most common (also known as a live or hot transfer). the call center operator dials a number and talks to the person who has picked up the call before transferring the caller over to them. 



Cold Transfer aka Blind Transfer 


To perform a blind transfer:  

1. Press the Options soft key during a call, and select Blind Transfer.
2. Do one of the following:  

  • Enter the number or select the handset you want to transfer the call to.
    Press
    ,
    or the Transfer soft key.      
  • Press the Directory soft key, and select the desired contact.
    Press the Call soft key.
    If both the office number and the mobile number of the contact are stored, select the desired number and press
    or the OK soft key.

The call is connected to the number or handset you specified, and the LCD screen prompts “Call Transferred”.



Performing a Warm Transfer


Perform an attended transfer if you want to talk to the party to whom you’re transferring the call. Or, you can choose not to talk to the party. In this case, you wait for the party’s ring-back sound and then transfer the call.

 
To perform an attended transfer:  

1. Press the Options soft key during a call, and select Transfer.
2. Do one of the following:  

  •    
  • Enter the number or select the handset you want to transfer the call to.
    Press
    or the Transfer soft key to dial out.      
  • Press the Directory soft key, and select the desired contact.
    Press the Call soft key.
    If both the office number and the mobile number of the contact are stored, select the desired number and press
    or the OK soft key to dial out.  

3. Press the Transfer soft key to complete the transfer after the party answers the call.
The LCD screen prompts “Call Transferred”.  


Transferring to Voicemail

To Transfer to Voicemail via phone interface:

You can transfer a call to voicemail of any extension by performing a Blind Transfer and adding * before the extension number (ex. *102). Once the transfer has completed, the call will be sent directly to voicemail without the extension ringing.
